Pearls chosen one at a time

JIPearls is a small studio devoted to a single material. We buy cultured pearls loose, sort them by lustre and surface, and set aside only the ones worth keeping.

Matching a strand takes patience: pearls are graded for size, shape and overtone until the line reads as one piece rather than a row of beads.

Each necklace is knotted between pearls on silk so the strand drapes softly and a single break never costs the whole piece. Clasps are solid, never plated.
